This year’s soirée takes place at the over 200 year old Trades Hall in the heart of the merchant city at 85 Glassford Street, Glasgow on Wednesday 23rd September.

Designed by Robert Adam and finished by his younger brothers  James and William this remarkable building was constructed for the Trades House, a charity founded in 1602 to provide a centre for the15 most important guilds operating in the city. It is the only major work by Robert Adam surviving in Glasgow.

Trades House is a charity focusing on both Educational Initiatives and supporting people in need. It gives donations of more than £750,000 annually to various causes and individuals.

The members event will commence at 5.30 with a talk on the history of the charity in the lavishly decorated great hall. This will be followed by drinks and canapes and the opportunity to join a guided tour of the building. The evening will wind up by 7.30.
